NATIONAL DIABETES WEEK – JULY 12 – 18 2015
Diabetes is the fastest growing chronic disease in Australia. Over 1.7 million Australians are living with diabetes and a further 280 Australians develop diabetes every day. An estimated 2 million Australians are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes and are already showing early signs of the disease. There are serious complications common to all types of diabetes including heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, limb amputation, depression, anxiety and blindness. With careful management people with diabetes can live well with their condition.
